Biography
Tammy Lauren is an actress best known namely for her numerous television appearances and for her starring role in the 1997 horror movie "Wishmaster," as an art appraiser who accidentally wakes an evil Djinn from his ancient sleep. Although she has appeared in other motion pictures, the Wes Craven-produced movie is her only starring role. Most viewers, however, may remember her as the ambitious, showbiz-obsessed young Ginger Szabo in the World War II-era television drama "Homefront," which ran for two seasons in the early 1990s before being canceled despite strong critical praise. From 2006 to 2008, she was a regular on the daytime soap "The Young and the Restless" as Detective Maggie Sullivan, who investigated the murder of another character before being mysteriously written off the show. She has also appeared on the sitcoms "Dave's World," "Home Improvement," and "Two and a Half Men," among many others. As a teen, she co-starred with Shawnee Smith in two sensationalistic television movies, "Crime of Innocence" and "I Saw What You Did." Although her career in feature films never really took off beyond supporting parts, in addition to "Wishmaster" she also appeared in "Radioland Murders" and "Mad City."
