Biography

Best known as Ginger Ward of "Knots Landing," Kim Lankford first broke into show business with a bit part in the crime caper "Harry and Walter Go to New York" in 1976. The following year she snagged a guest spot on "Happy Days," making her television debut. After the short-lived sitcom "The Waverly Wonders," on which Lankford was among the main cast, she landed the role of newlywed Ginger on "Knots Landing," a popular primetime soap opera. After five years on the show, she left and appeared on such popular programs as "Fantasy Island," "Cheers," "The Love Boat," and "Jake and the Fatman." In 1997, she returned to "Knots Landing" in the miniseries "Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac." While Ward also appeared in several films, among them: "Malibu Beach," "The Octagon," and "Cameron's Closet," she never became a big name, though she dated one. Lankford was once in a relationship with acclaimed singer-songwriter Warren Zevon. Lankford has since created a business apart from her acting career. Living Horsemanship, is a ranch that promotes wellness through horseback riding and Pilates exercises.
