During the early stages of his Hollywood career, Jackson mainly held acting roles in films like the Cher thriller "Suspect" (1987). He also starred in the TV movies "Samaritan: The Mitch Snyder Story" (CBS, 1985-86) and "Ironclads" (TNT, 1990-91). He also appeared in the TV special "Garrison Keillor's Hello Love" (PBS, 1991-92). He also starred in the TV movies "Tad" (Family Channel Studios, 1994-95) and "Sophie and the Moonhanger" (Lifetime, 1995-96). Jackson also created music for "Leap of Faith" (1992). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Tom Clancy's NetForce" (1998-99). Jackson also contributed music to the crime drama "Clay Pigeons" (1998) with Joaquin Phoenix. Jackson most recently worked on "A Hero's Welcome" (CBS, 2005-06). Jackson won a Best Country Album Grammy Award in 2003.
