Biography
Former entertainment industry account executive who founded her own company, Andrea Jaffe & Associates, and became one of Hollywood's most visible and high- powered publicists of the 1980s. Her clientele has included such performers as Warren Beatty, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Farrah Fawcett, Richard Gere, Dustin Hoffman, Bette Midler, and Sissy Spacek, such filmmakers as Michael Apted and Oliver Stone, and production firms including Sherry Lansing Productions, Largo Entertainment, and Buena Vista Productions. Jaffe has also handled publicity for such films as "Platoon" (1986), "Fatal Attraction" (1987), "Rain Man" (1988), "The Grifters" (1990), and "The Doors," "For the Boys" and "JFK" (all 1991).
In November 1991, Jaffe was lured into signing a contract as an executive vice president and president of domestic marketing for 20th Century Fox. After disbanding her company, she took on responsibility for creative advertising, publicity and promotional efforts for all Fox films released domestically, a job she held for over two and a half years. In 1994, she announced her resignation.
Jaffe is the sister of producer and executive Stanley Jaffe and the daughter of former Columbia executive Leo Jaffe.
