Kraines's career beginnings included film roles in the biopic drama "Frances" (1982) with Jessica Lange, the Ryan O'Neal comedy "Partners" (1982) and "The Slayer" (1982). Kraines also appeared in "The Gate" with Christa Denton (1987), "Powwow Highway" (1989) and "Storm and Sorrow" (Lifetime, 1990-91). He also worked on "Gate II" (1992). Later in his career, Kraines worked on "City Boy" (PBS, 1993-94).
