Biography
Marilyn Horne was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "100 Years of Golden Hits" (1980-81), "Met Centennial Gala Telecast" (PBS, 1983-84) and "Rossini at Versailles" (PBS, 1985-86). She also appeared in "L' Italiana in Algeri" (PBS, 1985-86) and "Liberty Weekend" (ABC, 1985-86). In the eighties and the nineties, Horne devoted her time to various credits, such as "The 1990 Richard Tucker Gala" (PBS, 1989-1990), "The House I Live In" (PBS, 1989-1990) and "The 1991 Richard Tucker Gala" (PBS, 1990-91). She also worked on "The Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration of the Performing Arts" (CBS, 1990-91). Additionally, she could be seen on a variety of television specials like "Falstaff" (1993-94), "The Legacy of Richard Tucker" (PBS, 1993-94) and "A Salute to Slava" (PBS, 1994-95). She also appeared in "Van Cliburn" (1994-95) and "Marvin Hamlisch & the Pittsburgh Pops" (PBS, 1996-97). Most recently, Horne worked on "The Song of the Lark" (PBS, 2000-01).
