Biography
Merle Kilgore brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Kilgore worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Coal Miner's Daughter" with Sissy Spacek (1980), "Nashville" (1975) and "Roadie" (1980). He also contributed to "Rudy" (1993) starring Sean Astin, "Static" (1986) starring Keith Gordon and "Willa" (CBS, 1978-79). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Kilgore's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "U-Turn" (1997), "Price of Glory" (2000) and the Gary Oldman drama "The Contender" (2000). Kilgore's music was also featured in the action film "Showtime" (2002) with Robert De Niro, the biographical drama "Sonny" (2002) with James Franco and the Joaquin Phoenix smash hit musical drama "Walk the Line" (2005). His music was also featured in "The Hills Have Eyes" (2006) with Aaron Stanford and "Silent Hill" (2006). Kilgore's music was most recently featured in the Henry Cavill blockbuster action flick "Man of Steel" (2013).
