October 31 | 16 films
From the dead of dawn at 6am on October 30 well past the witching hour on October 31, TCM invokes the spirit of Halloween with our annual 48-hour Halloween Terror-Thon. On the heels of our Creepy Cinema programming and our hair-raising Star of the Month, Bela Lugosi, TCM still has several tricks and treats up our sleeves. We’re closing out the festivities of a spooky month with even darker, chilling and thrilling frights to plague your dreams and switch on the lights. If horror doesn’t delight you the way it does us, don’t worry, there are plenty of entertaining options to choose from.
From Peter Cushing (Dracula A.D.) to Peter Lorre (The Beast with Five Fingers); Eye of the Devil to The Devil’s Own, our Terror-Thon extends from pre-Code (Doctor X) to the 1980s (Blue Velvet). We’re highlighting scares from The Wolfman to Thirteen Women, along with a Psycho, The Strangler, a Peeping Tom and a whole web of terrors From Beyond the Grave. Tune in as we run the gamut of haunts for you to enjoy, whether you’re returning from a night of festivities or a night owl staying indoors alone, we’ve got you covered for Halloween, as long as you’re home.
