Synopsis
Shopgirl Frances Weaver plans her vacation at the beach while she sells bathing suits and eludes the vigilance of a sour floorwalker; Agnes, sales manager of her department, is to go with her, and Maizie, another shopgirl, gives her a list of telephone numbers collected at the beach. Dave Brown, a young plumber, arrives to repair her bathroom faucet just she is preparing to leave home. A series of a rainy days at the beach prove disappointing to Frances until Sid, a lifeguard, turns up and breaks the monotony. Then Dave Brown arrives, being mistaken for a cinematic celebrity and so introduced to Frances; Dave incurs Sid's enmity, and Maizie, seeking revenge, exposes Dave as a plumber. Humiliated, Frances gives Dave the air and goes home to Ma and Pa; her father secretly summons Dave to the house, and Frances, who has begun to miss him, is happily reconciled with him.
