Synopsis

At a Marine Corps post in Haiti, Brenda, daughter of General Mitchell and wife of Colonel Ritchie, becomes bored with her uneventful life. Having in the past taken a fancy to Capt. Clive Branch, she persuades her father to have him transferred to Haiti. Unaware of her interest, Branch falls in love with Helen Arnold, whose husband is a brutal and indifferent captain; jealous of their relationship, Brenda plans to force Branch into making love to her, but her efforts are repulsed. Arnold learns of his wife's affair with the captain and warns his wife against a divorce, but he is murdered. During the investigation, Brenda reveals the affair between Branch and Helen, hoping to throw suspicion on him, but when she is proved guilty of the crime, Brenda shoots herself.
