Synopsis

"The Shannons of Broadway," a vaudeville troupe, are performing in a New England town before an audience including Tessie and Chuck, the young lovers. When Tessie's father, Swanzey, the hotel owner, interrupts the act by taking out his daughter, Mickey Shannon starts a row and Swanzey refuses to give them accommodations at the hotel. Bradford, Chuck's wealthy father, threatens to foreclose the mortgage on Swanzey, causing the Shannons to buy the hotel from him and make extensive alterations. Newt, Bradford's lawyer, tells Emma Shannon that Bradford wants the hotel because of a projected airfield nearby, and she persuades Chuck to buy options for the Shannons near the site. Mickey, hearing that the airfield plan is a hoax, sells to Bradford, while Emma is offered a larger sum by a proper representative; but the drunken Newt confesses to Bradford's conspiracy. The Shannons resell the hotel and return to the stage with a new act.
