Synopsis
Hollywood radio commentator Dan Clifford, a former reporter, believes that his life is empty of meaning. Dan's chance to make a difference occurs when his old prohibition pal, Hinge Jackson, returns from Europe and Dan learns that he is involved in the kidnapping of Norma Jameson, the daughter of a studio mogul. Insisting on acting as an intermediary between the kidnappers and Norma's father, Dan follows Hinge's instructions and delivers the ransom money to Axel, the radio station janitor. The ransom was just a test to see if Dan could be trusted, however, and rather than winning the release of the girl, Dan is spirited away to meet Philip Decarno, the real mastermind behind the kidnapping and a ruthless gangster who is wanted for murder. Decarno instructs Dan to tell the governor that in exchange for clemency, he will free the girl. When the governor, a friend of Norma's father, refuses the gangster's demands, Dan, to spare the girl's life, informs Decarno that the governor has agreed to his terms. After Norma is freed, Dan tells Decarno that he has been duped, and then shoots the gangster as he is about to draw his gun. After returning to the studio for his nightly show, Dan is broadcasting the story of the kidnapping when he is shot down by Decarno's gun-toting mob. Dan's epitaph reads "one moment is enough for any man."

Notes
The above film credits and plot summary are based on a cutting continuity included in the studio records. Although the Call Bureau Cast Service and Variety review list El Brendel's character as "Lucius," the continuity lists his name as "Axel." The Call Bureau also lists Eduardo Cianelli's character as "O'Dell" rather than "Decarno." The 1932 Universal film Okay America was based on the same William Anthony McGuire story .
