Synopsis

Buck private Chick Evans, stationed with the U. S. Marines in Honolulu, conceives the idea of stealing his captain's uniform and Distinguished Service Medal so as to attract attention in high society. He succeeds in getting an invitation from Delphine Witherspoons to a party at her home; but his buddies decide to crash the party, and unwittingly they expose his rank. Realizing that Chick loves Delphine, Edna, a mutual friend, plans to bring them together aboard her yacht, but Delphine denounces him as an imposter. Chick arranges for the captain to fake a shipwreck; but a real storm arises, the boat goes under, and Chick and Delphine are marooned on a desert island. Upon returning to Honolulu, Chick is put in the brig, and Delphine begins to relent when a fortune-teller advises her that Chick is to be shot for desertion. Rushing to save him, she finds, instead, that he is being promoted to captain.
