Synopsis

Jimmy Parker, a repossession agent for Skip Tracers Ltd., is given thirty days by his boss, Bill Lannigan, to achieve the success of the agency's star agent, Miles Hanover, or be fired. While on his next assignment, the repossession of a radio owned by Lulu Driscoll, Jimmy unwittingly stumbles into a band of jewel thieves who have robbed movie star Corrine Hill and stashed her jewels in the radio. Determined to retrieve the radio, Jimmy is arrested for trying to strong-arm his way into Lulu's hotel room. As Jimmy languishes in jail, Corrine's business manager John Lawrence, suspects that her fiancé, Steve Brady, is involved in the robbery. His suspicions are confirmed when he overhears jewel thief Duke Jurgens demand a share of the loot from Steve. With this information, Lawrence goes to Skip Tracers for help in recovering the jewels, and Lannigan assigns Miles to the case. Finally released from jail, Jimmy returns to Lulu's hotel and discovers that she has moved. On the way to her new address, Jimmy impulsively decides to marry his sweetheart, Mary Mulvaney. While Jimmy and Mary wed, Miles sees Duke and his boys snatch Steve and follows them to Lulu's house, where he summons Lawrence and Corrine. Annoyed by his uninvited visitors, Duke orders his boys to tie them up in the back room and then stashes Lulu and Steve in the trunk of a stolen car while he searches for the jewels. Interrupted once again by Jimmy, Duke gives him the radio to get rid of him, and once outside, Jimmy discovers the stolen jewels and notices the car that is on his collection list. He instructs Mary to drive his car home while he returns the car and the jewels for the reward. When Duke sees Jimmy drive off in the car, he pursues him in a high speed chase that draws the attention of the police. As the police stop the two cars for speeding, Jimmy pulls out the jewels and wins the reward and the praise of his boss.
