Synopsis

A feud erupts when Battle Guard, a Kentucky Derby winner owned by the nouveau riche Bogart family, breaks out of his padlock to visit Queen. The mare is owned by an impoverished but aristocratic family consisting of old Gramps and his granddaughter Marian. Enraged by his thoroughbred's escapades, Bogart fires Hefty, his stable boy, and forecloses on Gramps' stable, forcing the sale of Queen to a laundryman. Hefty then gets a job taking care of the laundry horses, and soon after, Queen has a colt named Sweet Revenge, which the laundryman gives to Marian. Unknown to Marian, Bogart's son Greg, who is in love with her, pays the colt's stable and feed bills. After Marian recruits physician Ben Marshall as the colt's vet, she and her grandfather ramble from track to track winning minor stakes with their pedigree-less steed. Difficulty arises, however, when they try to enter Sweet Revenge in the big race against Bogart's horse, but Greg intercedes on their behalf and the colt is allowed to run. The colt's chances are dimmed when she suffers a leg injury, but Ben doctors the leg, and Sweet Revenge wins her race as Ben wins Marian's love.
