Synopsis

Alan Nichols, president of an electronics firm, and two vice presidents of the company, Robert Cannon and Fred Vitale, are summoned to Cape Canaveral for the test shot of a missile which their company developed. Before they board the plane, however, Cannon's suitcase is switched for one containing a bomb. Purely by chance, Cannon opens his luggage en route and discovers the bomb, which Vitale manages to deactivate. The others all suspect Cannon's wife, and the FBI is called in to determine whether the case is one of attempted murder or attempted sabotage. Petersen, whose son had been fired by Nichols, is an electric maintenance foreman for the electronics firm, and he believes he is free from suspicion when the FBI fails to arrest him. Further investigation proves Petersen made and planted the bomb. Petersen goes to Nichols' yacht where Nichols' wife, Marian, is waiting for her lover, Walter Macklin, also a project engineer with her husband's company. Petersen tells Marian of his hatred for her husband and of his plan to take revenge by blowing up the yacht with himself and her aboard, but the FBI arrives in time to stop him.
