Synopsis
In their search for the hidden map to a silver mine, bandits Manuel and Carga break into the house of Don Careta, Manuel's brother. Fearing for the safety of his daughter Wanda, Don Careta sends for Jack Clark, the son of his old friend, to protect the family. Learning of Jack's impending arrival, Manuel, Carga and their accomplice, Nicki hire a gunman to eliminate him. Jack, who is on his way to Santa Fe with his pal Lopez, accidentally runs into the gunman, who is killed in a fight with the sheriff. Finding Carga's letter on the body, Jack decides to take the killer's place and presents himself as the hired gun. Jack's ruse is discovered when Piute, Carga'a Indian spy, overhears Jack conferring with Don Careta, and he then informs Carga. Deciding to eliminate all those who stand in the way of the map, Carga kidnaps Wanda and Careta and imprisons them in a mountain cabin. When Jack rides to their rescue, he is overpowered by Carga's man, Trigger, and Carga threatens to blow them all up unless Careta gives him the map. Careta agrees to hand over the map at the hacienda, but Carga double-crosses him and sets the charge of dynamite to explode anyway. After Carga leaves them to search the Careta house for the map, Jack's faithful horse Rusty appears and saves his master. Jack and Lopez then ride to the ranch, where Lopez kills Piute. Unarmed, Jack enters the house and finds an old gun belonging to Careta's father. In the ensuing fight, Jack overpowers Carga and afterwards finds the map hidden in the gun. After capturing the rest of the gang, Jack proposes to Wanda.
