Synopsis

Ranch owners Frank Carter and Jim Bellair are in competition for political office, and each believes the other responsible for cattle rustling. When Jim is shot at, Frank's nephew Billy Carter helps him home, but both Jim and his daughter Kitty are suspicious of Billy. Determined to find the real culprit, Billy tracks the attackers to a hideout near Hell's Basin. He overhears his uncle's foreman, Luke Long, and ranch hands Cal and Jack discussing the shooting and cattle rustling, but he is captured by madman Loco, who turns him over to the rustlers. They leave him tied up in the cabin, and tell Loco to dispose of him. Meanwhile, the Bellair ranchhands discover that Jim may die from his gunshot wound and they angrily storm Carter's ranch, with the intention of lynching Frank. Frank maintains he is innocent, but they bring him to their ranch. Kitty discovers Luke robbing the safe, but when he tries to force himself on her, she escapes. Billy frees himself and returns to the Bellair ranch, but leaves to rescue Kitty, who has been kidnapped by Luke. Billy rescues Kitty, and Luke and Loco kill each other just as a posse arrives. Later, Billy and Kitty become better acquainted while Frank and Jim renew their friendship.
