Synopsis
Trick rider Joan Cameron and rodeo performers Crash, Denny and Alibi are about to embark on a war bond sales tour when Joan receives word from her father Dan's ranch that her brother, sheriff Dave, has been killed. The tour is postponed, and afterward Joan discovers that her father has been mining magnacite, a valuable resource for the war effort. After Dan explains that his work is continually sabotaged and Dave's killers have not been identified, Crash, Denny and Alibi agree to work undercover as "cowboy commandos" to rout the saboteurs. Crash gets appointed sheriff of the town, while Denny and Alibi work in the mines. In accordance with their plan, Alibi is soon fired from the mine and goes to the saloon, which is run by Katie and her husband Werner. Alibi pretends to get drunk and publicly vows revenge against Dan. Alibi's rantings attract the attention of Fraser and Mario, two mine workers who secretly work for Nazi agents. The next day, a wagonload of magnacite is attacked by bandits, and the deputy sheriff, Slim, is wounded. Denny captures Fred, one of the bandits, and takes him to the jail, where Crash interrogates him. Before Fred can confess, however, he is shot to death and Crash is attacked by two masked men. They leave believing they have killed Crash, who is actually unharmed. Alibi, meanwhile, has discovered a secret room adorned with swastikas behind the saloon and learns that Werner is the Nazi saboteur. Alibi then overhears Werner plotting to blow up the mine and warns Joan to alert the cowboy commandos. The commandos converge at the mine, where Werner, Fraser and Mario have disabled the guards and are planting dynamite. Slim meanwhile disables Katie's car so that she cannot escape. The commandos fire at the Nazis before they can discharge the dynamite. Fraser pretends to surrender so that Werner and Mario can escape on foot, but the commandos capture and arrest the enemies, so that the magnacite can now be mined without intervention.
