Synopsis

Clarence Butts, a college student pretending to be a weakling to avoid being put to work in his father's steel foundry, leads a wild life, culminating in a chase and a fight with a policeman. The family doctor, perceiving his subterfuge, has Clarence placed with a Wild West show, where he courts destruction by flirting with Calamity Jane, a broncho-rider who dislikes men because a man once robbed her and her father of their fortune. When the villain appears at the show, Jane shoots him and rides away; Clarence helps her elude the police in his car; and as they face danger together, she realizes his fondness for her. She consents to marry him, and they set out to find a handy minister.
