Synopsis

Plagued by the crimes of the elusive Skull Mesa gang, Texas Ranger Fred Jamison decides to go undercover to infiltrate the outlaws. As a result, Captain Rowlins, the head of the Rangers, comes to town and accuses Jamison of being in league with the gang. The frustrated townspeople eagerly seize upon Fred as their scapegoat, and only his friend, Jean Morrison, believes in his innocence. Pretending to smart under their accusations, Fred quits the Rangers. The ruse works as Fred makes contact with the gang's leader, "Red" Kane, who invites the ex-Ranger to join them. Soon Fred has not only located the gang's hideout, but has gathered enough evidence to put the outlaws behind bars. Fred then sends a request for reinforcements to Rowlins, but the message is intercepted by Jim Davis, who is a confederate of the outlaws. Things look bad for Fred until Rowlins rides to the rescue with his Rangers.
