Synopsis

When Mimi Bellamy, a young wife whose conduct is not entirely above reproach, is murdered, two persons are placed on trial: her husband, Stephen; and Sue Ives, a beautiful young girl. The two suspects are brutally cross-examined by the district attorney, but the jury finds them not guilty. A man not previously heard in the trial then comes forward and testifies; this witness is a married high school teacher who had been philandering on the night of the murder and whose testimony clears Stephen and Sue of the slightest suspicion of guilt.
