Synopsis

Mockumentary that follows a running back who went to jail for armed robbery and is offered furlough from Death Row to take his former team to victory. In 1994, Barefoot Bobby Briggs was arrested for his role in a botched armed robbery of an Austin convenience store. When he was convicted and sentenced to die, the career of one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of pro football was ended. Nine years later, Bobby's appeals have all but run out, and the Austin Steers are on the march to the Mega Bowl, with a lock on the playoffs, when their wide receiver has a season ending injury. With their playoff hopes in shambles, the Governor of Texas controversially offers Bobby a furlough from Death Row to help rescue the Steers' post-season hopes, and even play in the Mega Bowl.
