Synopsis

Greatly disappointed when his son marries a waitress, the status-conscious Gilbert Jackson severs all relations with the young man. Five years later, the son goes out West for a few months to earn a living, while his wife and Little Mary, their infant daughter, move into a small cottage next to the house owned by Gilbert and his wife Amelia. Unaware that the young girl is their granddaughter or that her mother is their daughter-in-law, the old couple immediately falls in love with Little Mary. Then, softened by his contact with Little Mary, Gilbert hires a detective to find his son. He then wires him to come back to his family, after which the real identities of Little Mary and her mother are revealed, and a reconciliation takes place between the elder Jacksons and the younger ones.
