Synopsis
Luke Conner, saloon keeper and leader of a gang of horsethieves in the little mining town of Red Gulch, attempts to blackmail Jack Crosby, a gambler who has kept his real identity secret from Mary Ellis, daughter of a gold miner. Conner would like to own Mary's pet horse, Rex. His blackmail plot having failed, Crosby attempts to steal Rex and then force his attentions on Mary. Jack Crosby saves Mary while Rex leads Connor over a cliff to fall to his death. Mary allows Jack to explain the reason for his deception, and all is forgiven.
