Synopsis
The Cisco Kid, an elusive gentleman bandit who is wanted by the California police, arrives in the town of San Lorenzo with his partner, Baby, and meets a Spanish dancer named Raquel in a saloon. Later, in her dressing room, Cisco hides while Raquel gets rid of her boyfriend, Raoul. Raquel explains to Cisco that Raoul is about to marry beautiful heiress Dolores Ramirez, who is called the "Angel of San Lorenzo" because of her charity work, and has promised to share Dolores' inheritance with Raquel after the wedding. When Raoul catches Cisco and Raquel embracing, he starts a brawl, and Cisco is chased out of town. The next day, Cisco and Baby hijack a carriage and pay a visit to the Ramirez hacienda. Cisco introduces himself to Dolores' uncle, Don José, as famous California adventurer Don Luis Salazar. He then learns that Dolores plans to give all of her inheritance to the poor. When Cisco asks her if she loves Raoul, she admits only that she dearly loved her departed father, who arranged the marriage. Raoul soon arrives at the hacienda and, accusing Cisco of being an impostor, engages him in a sword fight, which Cisco wins. As the police approach, Dolores' duenna tells Cisco that she knows he is not who he says he is, and begs for his help in stopping the marriage, which her father arranged out of greed. In town, after Cisco tricks Raquel into confessing that Raoul and Don José had a written agreement regarding the Ramirez inheritance, Cisco holds up Raoul and finds a note for $500,000 pesos from Don José to Raoul. Cisco returns to the Ramirez hacienda with the note, finds a forged will in Don José's strongbox, and confronts Don José in front of Dolores. When Raoul arrives and holds up Cisco, Baby shoots the gun out of Raoul's hand. Cisco then starts a sword fight with Raoul, which is interrupted by the approach of the police. Dolores hides Cisco and kisses him before he escapes and rides out of town.
