Synopsis
When a lawyer named Lew Walters is run out of town, he abducts Millie Erne and her daughter and forces them to accompany him. Millie's brother, Jim Lassiter, is a Texas Ranger who then dedicates his life to tracking down Walters. During his search for the lawyer, Lassiter becomes ramrod on Jane Withersteen's big spread, where he befriends a young cowboy, Venters. Venters later goes after an outlaw gang and captures its leader, who turns out to be a beautiful young woman with whom he falls in love. Finally Jane tells Lassiter that the man he is hunting is now a local judge known as Dyer. Lassiter walks into Dyer's courtroom and picks him off with deadly precision. A posse is formed, and Lassiter and Jane are forced to flee, finally taking refuge on a plateau. The only approach to their hiding place is by a set of stairs cut into the side of the cliff; and when Lassiter rolls down a boulder from the heights to block the pursuer's path, he and Jane are trapped there for life, a prospect neither finds displeasing.
