Synopsis

Don Pedro de Barrego, a Spanish grandee, visits England and falls in love with Dolores Annesley, a beautiful young English girl who refuses his advances. Barrego returns home and resumes his profession as a bullfighter; Dolores journeys to Seville, where she watches Barrego at work in the ring. Dolores is later forced by a storm to seek refuge in the mountain castle owned by Barrego, and there he holds her against her will. She attempts to escape with the help of Gómez, Barrego's valet, but Barrego discovers her plans and dismisses Gómez. Dolores later escapes alone on horseback, and Barrego gives chase, but his horse falls, badly injuring him. Gómez then seizes Dolores, but Barrego, despite his injuries, rescues her. Dolores, at last, freely admits that she loves the Spaniard and makes plans to become his wife.
