Synopsis

Daphne Bretton, left in the care of her busy father Jaffrey when her mother Virginia decides to pursue an opera career, grows up without much attention. In boarding school, her behavior is somewhat unconventional. One night Richard Wiltoner is found in her room, and though the situation is quite innocent, they are expelled. Convinced that they did no wrong, Daphne's father sends her to the Adirondacks and takes Richard into his business. In the mountains, Daphne meets a young roué and millionaire, Sheridan Kaire, who finds that he can only win her by suggesting that they elope. Daphne consents; however, Mr. Bretton finds that Kaire has committed bigamy and has the marriage annulled. Finally, Daphne's parents are reunited, and Daphne and Richard realize they are in love and marry.
