Synopsis

Stephen Stephani, a warlord from the country of Nordhoff, and his daughter Mary visit the enemy country of Zandria in order to unearth war secrets. Here Mary meets Paul Ekald, a young Zandrian captain, and they fall in love at first sight. When war breaks out, Stephani returns to Nordhoff, with the understanding that Mary will follow. Meanwhile, Vesta Boris, Mary's illegitimate half sister, has stolen important war plans, murdering Count Wenzel to get them, and is on her way to Nordhoff when she is stopped at the border. Seeing Mary waiting in the depot, Vesta induces her to exchange passports and goes to Nordhoff with the plans traced in invisible ink on her underskirt. Mary is then arrested and sentenced to be shot at sunrise. Her mission accomplished and learning of her sister's fate, Vesta returns and changes places with Mary, receiving the bullets of the firing squad. Soon after, peace is declared and Mary is saved by her soldier lover.
