Synopsis

Mary Gray, a secretary, chooses to marry David Winthrop, an employee in the firm where Dan Kenyon, who also loves her, is a partner. Winthrop is fired, the marriage fails, and Mary returns to work as Kenyon's secretary. Kenyon continues his unwelcome suit, and Mary is suspected of killing Kenyon when he is found dead. So as to shield Mary, whom he believes to be guilty, Winthrop confesses. Both are exonerated when Hiram Foster, the night watchman whose daughter Kenyon wronged, confesses to the crime and then commits suicide.
