Synopsis

"The story concerns the fair Ynez, the daughter of a Spanish Don living quietly in the ancient hacienda. Her father, Don Guzman de Ruis y Montejo (Otto Lederer), determines upon a rich marriage for the girl. A chance meeting with an American, Captain Crooks, develops into love at first sight. Papa, not knowing, takes his daughter to the Riviera, where Ismid Matrouli (Edwin [ sic ] Cecil), a Levantine of mongrel origin, but wealthy, falls in love and asks dad for her hand. The captain appears upon the scene in time to rescue Ynez from a watery death. ... Matrouli sicks a professional swordsman on the cap, but the latter socks him in the jaw instead of arranging a duel. ... The inevitable duel follows. ... A gypsy lover of Ynez takes a pot shot at the cap during the duel, but hits his opponent.
