Synopsis
Sandy is a Manhattan waterfront urchin who, through no fault of his own, is sentenced to reform school; there he meets Sailor Fritz, a convict who has been assigned to the school to teach the art of sailmaking. Fritz is later paroled and helps Sandy to escape from the reformatory, apprenticing him to another trade: warehouse pilfering. On the docks, Sandy meets Marjorie Cullen, a detective's daughter who tries to get him to go straight, but he remains loyal to Fritz. Fritz eventually is captured by the police in a loft robbery, and Sandy escapes, finally free to quit the life of crime and marry Marjorie.
