Synopsis

Bim, the good-natured town ne'er-do-well, has only one passion in life, his love for Mary Bruce, who is engaged to bank teller Harvey Cahill. One day, Bim rescues a small boy named Bill after he is thrown off a freight train and the pair become great friends. Meanwhile, Harvey, caught short in his accounts, persuades Mary to lend him the school memorial fund, thus placing her in a precarious position when the building committee requests the money. While trying to clear Mary's name of scandal, Bim learns that Cahill has been embezzling money from the bank, and after he averts a proposed robbery of the express office, Bim is made the town hero and given a generous reward. With the money, Bim buys a small farm, which he, Bill and Mary make their home.
