Synopsis

Mr. Pickering, a wealthy businessman, wishes his daughter Caroline to marry his business associate, Herbert Poole, but Mrs. Pickering wants her to marry Professor Bliss. Caroline has yet another choice, however - Ed Swinger, a recent college graduate. Her father plots to get rid of Swinger by giving him $20,000 to invest and requesting that he double the amount in sixty days. Pickering then tells Poole to sell some valueless oil stock to Ed, who manages to retain $5,000 after the crooked deal. Ed meets college chum Paul Greer, who is trying to establish himself in advertising; both then meet Miss Jones, who convinces them that she could make a fortune in pickles with $5,000. All efforts are combined, and Bingo Pickles are advertised everywhere. Pickering buys out the concern for a large sum, then Ed discloses himself as the financial backer and wins Caroline.
