Synopsis

Rokaia, an orphaned English girl, has been brought up among the Mohammedans. Ordered to marry Malec, a fat merchant, she ignores their restrictive marriage codes and flees to Paris where she meets the Marquis de Tonquin, an old roué who offers her shelter. When his son Marcel begins to ignore his college studies in favor of the fast life, the marquis sends Rokaia to the boy in hopes that she will reform him. True to his father's wishes, Marcel treats Rokaia with great respect and falls in love with the girl. His happiness is threatened when Malec arrives to forcibly take Rokaia home, but Marcel and his fellow students fend the merchant off and all ends happily with the union of Rokaia and Marcel.
