Synopsis

Fanny Hill, an innocent country girl, meets the experienced Monika on a train to Stockholm, and they decide to share a furnished room. Fanny is hired by Monika's employer, Mrs. Schöön, whose "massage parlor" is actually a brothel catering to wealthy men. Fanny's naiveté protects her virginity until she discovers the deception, and she flees with Roger, the son of a supposedly wealthy shipowner. They fall in love, but Roger's father objects to the romance and sends him to South America. Fanny next becomes the mistress of Leif, a married businessman, and she remains happy until she finds him in bed with another woman. To avenge the insult, she seduces Leif's chauffeur, but they are discovered and turned away. Fanny then becomes devoted to Otto, a lonely retired bachelor, and they travel around Europe together. Otto dies suddenly, and Fanny learns that he has left her his considerable fortune. Now part of a new social circle in Stockholm, she throws a party and chances to meet Roger, whose father has since died. Still in love, the couple decide to marry. Roger confesses that his father was not really wealthy, but the lovers laughingly make plans to live on Fanny's fortune.
