Synopsis
The marshal of a lawless border town in southwestern Kansas is killed while suppressing a saloon fight. His son, Cheyenne Harry, kills two of the slayers and then agrees to his mother's plea never to carry a gun again. Boone Travis, a rival for the affections of the beautiful Conchita, murders a man and frames Harry for the cold-blooded crime. Harry is sentenced to die, but, accompanied by the sheriff, allowed a farewell visit to his mother. When Harry learns that his brother Bud has been branded by cattle thieves, he escapes, punishes the thieves, and in the meantime clears himself of the murder charge.

Notes
The film was made under the title The Man Who Wouldn't Shoot and completed by November 1918 at the latest. It is possible that the film was altered between this time and April 1919, when it was reviewed as Bare Fists in trade journals. One modern source credits Joseph Girard as Harry's father and Molly McConnell as Harry's mother, not Conchita's mother.
