Synopsis

Ann Carter is saved from suicide by Hayden Masters, a crook who wants to make her his accomplice. Ann marries him out of fear, but on their wedding night, he is arrested for burglary and imprisoned. Ann soon becomes secretary to the wealthy Martin Sterling, whose son, Donald, falls in love with her and proposes. Hearing that Masters has been killed in a prison break, Ann accepts, but Masters suddenly appears at the Sterling mansion and demands that she help him rob the house. Donald, hearing cries, enters and is losing the fight with Masters when Ann seizes Masters' gun and kills him. The jury's verdict is self-defense, which leaves Ann free to marry Donald.
