Synopsis

Navy Lieut. Allison Fraser is sent by Commissioner Lighton to search the Pacific islands for Harriet Pembroke, a teacher who disappeared with her female pupils during World War II while escaping from the Japanese. Fraser and his colleague, Lieut. Anthony Crane, are captured by eight women, who apparently have never seen men before, and taken to their leader, Harriet Pembroke herself. After interrogating and then feasting the men, Miss Pembroke tells them they will be used for mating purposes and then done away with. Fraser and Crane escape on the night of their "marriages" to Rachel and Maya by disguising themselves as women. When another naval search party arrives, they are told that Fraser and Crane have disappeared. But the two men suddenly reappear, and the entire naval party heads for their cabin cruiser. Upon discovering that it is gone and that they are all trapped together, the marooned sailors and the women begin pairing off, certain they will establish a remote island paradise.
