Synopsis
Audrey Hepburn's first television movie, a fourth-cousin-to-her-memorable "Charade" caper thriller, has her playing an elegant concert pianist who turns jewel thief to try ransoming her kidnapped boyfriend and gets involved in the Mexican desert with a bearded, devil-may-care, cigar chomping Robert Wagner. This marked Hepburn's return to TV acting (at least in the U.S.) after a 30-year layoff. In the 1950s, she had done a version of "Mayerling" with then-husband Mel Ferrer, after having made her (American) TV debut -- before becoming well-known in this country -- on a half-hour drama on "CBS Television Workshop" in the spring of 1952. Initially, "Love Among Thieves" was to have been titled "Here a Thief, There a Thief," while filming in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tucson and the Nevada desert.t.
