Synopsis

Big Cloud, an Indian boy, and Jack Colton, son of a pioneer, are united as children by a pledge of friendship but become enemies as adults. The son of Chief Chapulti, Big Cloud insists on fighting for what he believes is Indian territory. Violating a treaty, Big Cloud raids a wagon train. Colton, a cavalry lieutenant who is leading the party across the prairie, has a romantic interest in Samantha Farrell, a headstrong woman who would rather hasten west to stake her claim than stop to fight Indians. The raiding party attacks, is repelled by the cavalry, and is defeated when Chapulti, to stop the killing, shoots his own son. The romance between Colton and Samantha continues.
