Diary of a Teenage Girl

1h 42m 2015

Brief Synopsis

In 1976 San Francisco, Minnie Goetze is longing for love, acceptance and a sense of purpose in the world. Her hard-partying mother and absent father have left her rudderless in a drug-laden city in transition from the hippie movement to the punk era. She finds solace in the seductive smile of her mother's boyfriend, "the handsomest man in the world," Monroe Rutherford and eventually begins a complex love affair with him. What follows is an account of her sexual and artistic awakening from the pages of her diary. Based on the graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner.
