Synopsis

Agatha Christie's redoubtable Jane Marple, intrepid amateur sleuth, belatedly came to television in the person of Helen Hayes to unravel a complex murder case at a colorful Caribbean resort (actually Santa Barbara, California) after a retired British Major is bumped off. This Americanized Christie mystery was filmed back-to-back with another one, "Sparkling Cyanide," by the same producer, director and crew (although with a completely different cast) that premiered two weeks later. Producer Stan Margulies also earlier had made Dame Agatha's "Murder is Easy" with Helen Hayes.
