His film career continued throughout the eighties and the nineties in productions like "The Krays" (1990) with Billie Whitelaw, "Hamlet" (1990) with Mel Gibson and "The Fool" (1991) with Derek Jacobi. In his more recent career, he continued to act in the drama "Prince of Shadows" (1991) with Terence Stamp, the dramatic adaptation "The Buddha of Suburbia" (1993) with Roshan Seth Obe and the dramatic adaptation "Black Beauty" (1994) with Sean Bean. He also appeared in "When Saturday Comes" (1997) and the Colin Firth dramatic adaptation "Girl With a Pearl Earring" (2003). Most recently, McEnery acted on "Wallander" (PBS, 2008-2013).
