Biography
Jody McCrea was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. McCrea began her acting career with roles in such films as the western "Gunsight Ridge" (1957) with Joel McCrea, "The Monster That Challenged the World" (1957) and the Joel McCrea drama "Trooper Hook" (1957). She also appeared in the action picture "Hell Bent For Glory" (1958) with Tab Hunter and the dramatic adaptation "The Restless Years" (1958) with John Saxon. She continued to work steadily in film throughout the sixties, appearing in the Pat Boone comedic adaptation "All Hands on Deck" (1961), the Kent Taylor drama "The Broken Land" (1962) and the Robert Cummings comedy adventure "Beach Party" (1963). She also appeared in the comedy sequel "Muscle Beach Party" (1963) with Frankie Avalon and "Operation Bikini" (1963). Toward the end of her career, she continued to act in "Bikini Beach" (1964) with Frankie Avalon, "Pajama Party" (1964) with Tommy Kirk and the comedic adventure "Beach Blanket Bingo" (1965) with Frankie Avalon. She also appeared in the Annette Funicello comedy "How to Stuff a Wild Bikini" (1965) and "The Glory Stompers" (1967). McCrea last acted in "Cry Blood, Apache" (1970). McCrea passed away in April 2009 at the age of 75.
